Emily's Philosophy

Emily Schreiber's OT Philosophy

Before I start working with any family, one of the most important pieces is aligning on philosophy. Like anything in life, creating positive change requires commitment and consistency.

To create successful outcomes from Occupational Therapy I believe each part of the equation (Emily + Parents!) needs an "All in Care" mindset.

All in Care - Emily

The first part of All in Care is me, your occupational therapist! All in Care means I'm fully committed towards helping your child solve the various challenges they're facing.

A big part of this commitment is going beyond the traditional clinic setting and into your child's environment whether that's at home, in school, or even at the grocery store.

For example, if a child has a meltdown every time they go to the grocery store, I'll work with them IN the grocery store to overcome this challenge. If a child is struggling with pre-handwriting skills, I'll go to their school and work with them in the class room.

I take pride in doing everything I can to help your child overcome obstacles and develop the skills they need to be awesome humans!

The second part of All in Care is my commitment is to you, the parents!

My goal is to help every child improve, but if we're not seeing progress I'll work with you, the parents, to develop a game plan. That game plan could mean taking a break from OT, seeking a different type of therapy, or finding other resources.

I'll always share what I believe is the best option for your child's improvement. Even if I don't believe OT is the best option, I'll communicate that with you!

All in Care - Parents

One part of All in Care is me, but the other part is you! For parents, All in Care means you're fully committed to helping your child apply and practice the tools & skills they learn at OT.

Practicing with your child is crucial so we can achieve our number one goal - helping your child develop the skills needed to be successful at home, school, and in life.

If that sounds intimidating, don't worry! I'll teach you exactly how to practice with your child :)
